 Jesus said that he will build his church. Nothing
could be more certain. That means we must reach the billions of Asia. Really,
much has been accomplished in this region by many respected ministries, but the
field remains immense. The famous American Baptist missionary Adoniram Judson
came to Myanmar in 1813. He was an extraordinary man of God. His story was being
told and repeated again and again to the hearts of Myanmar Christians. Today
Myanmar has a population of over 50 million where the Christian community
comprised 4 million (it is 8%). Not only there are 46 million Myanmar people who
need the gospel but also a major part of Asia must be reached from here. Myanmar
is our doorway to a billion people in this region of the 10-40 window, not
including the billion in China. This region can be effectively reached by its
own sons and daughters to be trained as pastors, teachers, evangelists,
missionaries and lay leaders in their own cultural context.
